The knights of the Black Order are the masters of a military dominion spanning half a continent, stretching from the heartlands of the old pagan tribes of the East to the distant steppes at the edge of the world.
Descendants of Western crusading armies long since passed into myth, in their blood is mixed the fury and cunning of the Eastern knyaz and the lust for expansion of the Western princeling.
Theirs is a realm threatened constantly by bitter wars without end - whether against the raiders of the Northern fjords or the endless undead legions of the Dark.
The Comet has fallen to earth on the doorstep of the Order's recruiting lands in the south-western lowlands. While the main armies of the Black Order fight the resurgent Dark further to the East, the garrison at Ostvangr Keep readies itself for a desperate defensive war without reprieve or reinforcement.
